In the early 1990s the Swiss Community Care Society was very lucky to be the beneficiary of a will.
Anna Marie Nägeli-Schuler was a Swiss widow without descendants. After her death, the inherited property was subdivided into three blocks. Two were sold for development. This provided the means to renovate and maintain the house and surrounding garden. The property is a wonderful asset. It cannot be used other than as a family home and therefore has always been rented out. See images above and below.
Understandably, after 30 years of belonging to SCCS, despite regular maintenance, it became necessary to face a big renovation. In 2025 the house stood empty for nine months, while a great builder and team renovated it while retaining its Swiss flair. A young family with two kiddies is now extremely happy to live in this modernised but still very cosy home.

As Mr and Mrs Nägeli were the first people to build in that area in Berowra, they were able to call their street Helvetia Avenue and the one around the corner Geneva Street.
SCCS is very proud to have maintained this bequest over many years to the best of its ability. As you can see, it honours the memory of Swiss people and through that is able to help others and make life happier for many compatriots.
Should you consider including SCCS in your will with a smaller or bigger bequest, you may like (but don’t need) to talk to one of the committee members. You could find their details under CONTACTS.
